Buying a garage door/opener is like buying a project, though most people don’t look at it this way. investing wisely in this project that an individual will only partake in, once or twice in a lifetime on an average; will save you time and money now and for the long run…. let’s get started with some brief buyers q & a’s that make the process a little simpler:

 

Q. What kind of door/opener should I get?

A. What kind of door/opener do you currently have? Do you like it or are you looking to change it up a little bit? Does the current door meet standards, needs and functions of your demand? Based on your answers to these questions you will be able to move forward quickly.

 

Q. Why should I get a new garage door/opener?

A. If your garage door/opener is damaged beyond repair (whether by natural or human cause), you should probably get a new one. Maybe you’re selling your home and want increase the value of it by installing a new garage door or garage door opener.

 

Q. What factors should I consider when purchasing a new door?

A. When buying a door always consider cost, size, material, insulation levels and decorative elements; not to mention the overall purpose for usage of the garage. Also consider the type of weather exposure your garage door will have to survive, and any accessibility needs. Also, don’t forget to consider the warranty!

 

Q. What are the benefits of getting a new garage door/opener?

A. Getting a new door can improve the appearance of your home, increase value of the home, result in less maintenance to your home and personal property by adding security and aiding in insulation to your door and overall home(like a bedroom that sits above the garage) it.  Getting a new opener can improve functionality and support to your door.

A. There are retailers that provide opportunity for you to come in a showroom and view samples or models of most types of doors and openers available. some folks like to drive around the neighborhood and look at what others have to get a feel of what they may like… try to learn as much as you can because the more you learn about the upkeep of the garage door and opener, the more money you can save in the long run as well.

 

Q. What is your budget for this project? How can you save cost?

A. Try to stick you your budget as much as you can, with the least amount of out of pocket cost as possible. Chances are that you can save more on a garage door/opener bundle. Always see what your options are. Maybe you can purchase one at a time if you budget does not allow…..get a quote from your dealer and ask how long the quote/estimate is good for.
